An absolute vital component of being prepared for a crisis is to stage regular simulation exercises. We recommend that these should take place at least twice a year, to maintain levels of confidence and competence among all those participating.
These need to be made as realistic as possible. We would choose scenarios with you from those identified and run through an entire escalation exercise, using the physical venue and acting as journalists ourselves to make sure that the whole procedure is as realistic as possible. The exercises will be filmed and then reviewed afterwards, so that weaknesses can be identified and further training established based on these weaknesses.
Rehearsals need to be carefully planned in consultation with you and will take place over the course of an entire day. They will be filmed so that they can be played back and used for learning to improve performance and will always be attended by the training team from Media First.
